According to a police statement, Raymond Martinez, 17, sped up when a Southborough officer tried to pull him over for speeding on Turnpike Road around 1 a.m.

Martinez, of 35 Beaver Terrace, crashed the car, which was stolen from its Woonsocket, R.I. owner, on Country Club Lane in Framingham, the statement said.

The Southborough officer chased and arrested Martinez and charged him with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, operating to endanger, speeding, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for violating the marked lanes.
