The Enterprise reports two girls were transported from the shooting scene just before 11 p.m. at 220 Copeland St., Brockton Deputy Fire Chief Mark Baker said Sunday morning.

Baker said a 19-year-old girl was shot twice in the lower part of each of her legs. An 18-year-old girl was shot once in her upper left thigh. They were both transported to Boston Medical Center.

The shooting occurred at a backyard party, where police were called earlier in the night for complaints of loud music.

At 10:58 p.m., Brockton police and fire personnel responded to a call from that same address, reporting seven shots fired.

Upon arrival, police were reportedly told a man with a gun walked into the backyard, fired one round into the air, and then fired at the group of people in the yard.

The shooter was reportedly a black man, about 6 feet tall, wearing dark pants, a black sweatshirt, and possibly a baseball cap.

Police reportedly found shell casings at the scene, and found bullets had also hit a car that was driving by at the time of the shooting.

A pedestrian was also reportedly hit by a motor vehicle within minutes of the shooting, but Baker said Brockton firefighter EMTs did not transport any victim from the reported crash.

No arrests were made by Brockton police Saturday related to that incident or to the shooting.

Baker said he didn’t have any additional information about how serious the shooting victims’ injuries were, but added, “any time you get shot, it’s serious.”

The shooting is under investigation by Brockton police and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office.
