did the PAT today out in new Braintree. stressing because they didn't tell us what the qualifying time was for passing... anyone out there have any info they may have heard through the grapevine? I know the hiring process last year was somewhat of a joke in regards to those who physically could not get it together. I know the PAT prior to interviewing was to help weed those folks out... I didn't see anyone having too much difficulty with the course today. I am just going to drive myself crazy not knowing, or even having an idea of if I passed or not. I mean, no way around it, but the dummy drag sucked. it got done, but it outweighs me by 30 lbs... I just hope that wasn't my downfall. Stressing out!
I've heard is about 3.5 to 4 minutes to pass. Not sure.
So the dragging dummy was the toughest ? I thought the climbing the stairs would be.
I'm worried about that Dexterity one lol
It's the name that makes scary.
dexterity was ok considering the weight was 90 lbs and not the 37 lbs as it said it would be in the announcement; they may run into some legal trouble with that if people didn't pass because of that. I watched the women go through, in shape women, and everyone had a slow go with the dummy. I would think it may be curved / different qual times for gender based on that? then again, given how foreign this is to the court system itself trying to implement this... nothing would surprise me.
I know I said it just now in my reply to the other post, but as we went through and they were demonstrating how to do every obstacle, they reitered that the weight was not 37 lbs but actually 90. so be prepared.
Wow from 37 lbs to 90 lbs...that's quiet the leap, thanks for the heads up.
Did anyone find out if they Passed the PAT?
Well no guts no pay check.
Don't think they will tell you straight away, the confirmation will be thru email, like everything else.
Some emails have been sent out. I am guessing the average wait time for an email will be about a week.
Yes, you are right. I just received an email saying, " I passed the PAT".
Did you train for it ?
Good for whoever emailed you then. Sounds like he did well.
I tried to do it at a good pace.
I did a lot of cardio and some lifting.
can anyone tell me what is next after passing the Pat. The medical or the interview.
interview then the medical
Are they any main interview questions that they will ask in the interview. If so, can someone email an example.
Just watched on TV the sentencing of Philip Chism at Salem court and all 3 CO's were at least 60 and completely out of shape. The PAT should be for new CO's and current ones too.
most likely veteran COs that only did the 2 week academy which didn't require a PAT or physical fitness agenda
Just received email for interview.
and haha if they did a PAT for all CO's then most likely 70% of all MA court officers would be out of a job
What type of physical exercise do they perform at the academy.
Separate names with a comma.
