First responders gathered in Boston to pay respect to Joseph Toscano, who suffered a medical emergency and collapsed during a two-alarm fire in the area of Merrifield Avenue.

Toscano’s body was escorted from Cambridge to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Boston. From firefighters to state police, a line of first responders were there and saluted as the van made its way down the street.

Hours later, multiple agencies took to overpasses along I-93 to pay their respects as Toscano's body was escorted to a funeral home in Randolph.

Members of the Watertown Fire Department walked alongside the hearse as the procession neared the funeral home.
