    $125 for a test in a town with a population of 14K. What a bargain :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    I don't understand why they don't just advertise in job file and look for trained people, save everyone aggravation and waste of $.

    They need a test to legitimize the process even though theyll wind up just hiring a selectmen's son

    Because they already know who they're hiring.

    That test is called civil service. Might not get hired but def have a lot better of a chance then throwing away 125 bucks on that test.

    What does the population of the municipality have to do with it?

    Small town typically equals a small police force which usually has few openings. I could see paying $125 for a large agency that hires in large batches but not for one that probably will hire 1-2 a year. Not much bang for your buck in my opinion

    I guess it depends on how bad you want it.

    I'm not saying don't take it, I'm saying that's ridiculous for the town to charge that much.

    I have never taken a non-civil service exam before. What sort of questions are on here? I'm not that great at math. Thanks!
