How about Jacobs opening the purse strings and getting some decent players ?
He's got to have some money after selling all those $10 beers

Kilvinsky I think, therefore I'll never be promoted.

Hence, this is one of the reasons I have lost all interest in sports. There's no 'team' any more. It's a collection of guys who look for the very first opportunity to jump ship and management that is quick to dump anyone they suddenly decide isn't measuring up, no matter how productive overall, no matter how popular.
Sure, that's the workforce in general overall I guess, but still, I look back on when guys would spend a WHOLE CAREER with the same team (or almost) because the sense of loyalty between management and player. I could ROOT for a team, a collections of free agents means NOTHING to me.
The straw that broke the camel's back for me was after the Sox won the World Series in 2004, Johnny Damon couldn't WAIT to join the Yankees. Fuck 'em all.
